Happy to have Dom back! I know some were expecting him to explore his options.

Needs to hit the weights and conditioning and come back as the dominant player he was expected to be. But glad to see him stay.

It’s so weird that this is what the Recruiting Board has become. Not only do we have high school recruiting, now we post transfer portal entries, ones from other schools that are entering and we may be interested in, AND the players who are already on the team are announcing commitments to come back.
I still love it, but it’s comical compared to what it once was

If you love the current landscape of transfers, nil, etc….. I think there is a problem

This is good news. My only question now is what did Ohio St. see in his little brother? He is not that dominant. Always thought they’d be a package deal for the parents sake. Good luck to him and his great family.

What I meant by that is that I still love following recruiting - definitely not about its current state

His little brother isn't a bad player. Teams need depth and need to look at talented guys that maybe aren't expecting to start early and can instead develop into an asset in 3-5 years.

Yeah, I agree. I thought he was gone when his brother signed with Ohio State. IMO, Dominick is a starting caliber SEC DT but not really one of great note. I can't believe that many here think that the LSU DL are good. It was average at best. All anyone has to do is look at Ole Miss, Georgia, etc just in the SEC and see that their DL are more dominant than LSU's. I don't buy the EXCUSE that "oh, in Blake Baker's scheme they do their job by protecting the other players to make plays. That is frickING ridiculous. LSU has 0 pass rush with only the DL. And I see QB tackles by DL at other SEC schools...why don't LSU DL ever tackle the QB since he runs right by them.

Jesus Christ. How do you people still not understand that the school is announcing these?

It would be even be even less weird if it actually was the players. It’s their social media account not some PR event. People put pictures on social media of food they are about to eat for heaven’s sake.

I think you make a good point. After watching every playoff game, I realized that the DL's on all of them had very effective pass rush and run stopping capabilities especially compared to LSU. The consideration to me is what our defensive scheme expected our DL to do versus the others. I believe the defense works together in that some players' roles cause other players to do their job; therefore, the entire defense performs as one unit. Having said all that stuff, I just loved the aggressiveness of these playoff teams' defensive line.

Gotcha.

Had to follow now though, as you know 60% will be transferring in a year

Yeah, but I see Georgia playing as a unit with a dominant DL. I see Ole Miss playing as a unit with a dominant DL. These are not mutually exclusive. You can have aggressive DL and still help out the LB, the S, etc. In fact, if you can rush the passer with only 4 which LSU has never been able to do, you free up the other 7. Nnnnoooo, the reason the EXCUSE is being made that LSU DL "free up the other players to make plays" is that LSU's DL is NOT talented enough to make the plays that most DL make. Final point: name 1 single edge rusher who the other team has to worry about in pass protection. Answer: there is no one!
