I believe it was also the last year where not one comic book film finished ranked in the Top 25 of the box office.

It was nice when plenty of good movies came out in theaters and we only bitched about concession prices.

Some of those movies feel like they came out way longer than 25 years ago. This makes me feel young.

Bourne Identity would be on that list but they delayed it a few months because of 9/11.

I remember seeing it in theaters.
Absolutely fantastic movie. Definitely struck a balance of “why the hell were we there annd why the heck did this happen” with also supporting the soldiers who were put in that spot.
Incredible cast. Many before they got big.

I was still working at Blockbuster Video when this movie came out on DVD. We had a window cling poster of this same exact image by the front door. We'd normally switch out the window clings monthly or so.
One night a customer came in and asked if he could have the Hannibal window cling when we were done with it. His kid was a huge fan of the movie.
"Sure," I told him. "I should be replacing it next week. I'll hold onto it if you want to swing by and pick it up."
"Oh, ok. I didn't know if I could just get it now," he replied.
"Unfortunately we have to keep it up until Corporate sends us the new window clings."
The next day when I got to work, someone had stolen the Hannibal window poster.
I wonder if that guy still has it.

Isn’t that its actual name? I got my kids the books and that’s what the first one is called.

Did you get it in England?
Also, this brings back Christmas memories for me. My mother got me Prisoners from Azkabahn first because she thought it was the first book and 10 year old me had to be like “can I have the first and second books too,”
Also, I now remember my tutor saw me reading a Harry Potter book and she freaked out and went to tell my mother that I was reading very inappropriate material
