started a pork roast late it’s got another hour at least to go. I’m three beers in I may go for four and eat the roast tomorrow
Smells good though…carrots sweet potatoes and two heads of garlic

Nephews sent us a gift box from Katz Deli. Had Reuben sandwiches, pickles and chips.

Boss gave me some fresh caught sac-a-lait. Fried 'em up with some taters!

How was it?
It was good. We've gotten packages from Katz several times now (both on our own and as gifts). They have different boxes you can order, but they send the meats in a vacuum sealed bag, a loaf of their rye bread, cheese, mustard, kraut, russian dressing, bottles of pickles, the whole nine yards, and you just assemble the sandwiches yourself.

quote:I did drink the 4th last night and passed out so the pork roast was lunch today. I had pulled the roast out of the braise to chill separately so I put it in a dry pot and put it in the oven covered for about 40 mins and holy shite…the roast crisped up on the outside and made a bunch of crispy fatty meat chunks and it might be the best thing I’ve ever made

That sounds interesting. It stayed tender?
