What will Borrego do with Dejounte when he’s healthy?

He’s nearing one year since the injury and Dejounte has always had a good work ethic so I would assume he’s getting close to healthy but theres no way you can sit Fears now and start Murray at least from my view and Jose has played well as the backup to Fears. Do we sit/trade Jose to get Murray minutes hoping to recoup some value in trade this offseason? The only other option I can see happening is Murray never plays a game this year which considering his injury no one would raise an eye, even if he is healthy enough to play this year and then unload him this offseason for no value in return.

Hopefully play him over Poole

Since tanking is a non-issue, it's a no-brainer. We have to maximize the roster as it currently exists. Part of this is bolstering DM's trade value and, if healthy, he trumps Fears as an NBA player anyway (especially on the defensive end). Hopefully he can show out over the last half of the season and increase his worth on the open market for next summer.
Also, I'm convinced that Alvarado is gone by the trade deadline if DM is a go. It's time to maximize his value as it will never be higher.
My primary goal for the second half of this season is to develop a market for DM, the Poole Party, and 'The Chosen' (I do not want trash). That done, everything else will take care of itself.

He needs to ramp up DJ slowly and play the best players when healthy. Can’t risk DJ getting injured again and you can’t give preference to players because of who they are.

Have they even announced anything about Murray? Like he’s back at practice, doing 3v3 or 5 v 5?

There’s a name I haven’t seen in a while.

Dejounte will certainly come off the bench initially.
I think that I would want Fears to continue to start, as this would be best for his development, and he really has to play with Herb right now, as his individual defense is terrible.

He’s not going to look like the same player for this season if ever.

He should start over Fears if the Pels want to make the Play in.

Starting or not, I am hoping he can get to the point of finishing. Easy to forget how clutch he was for the Hawks coming in at the end of games. We have a real PG problem, in that Fears while talented is largely a negative player. And Poole…. Well you just can’t trust him at the end of games. If Dejounte is even an approximation of himself, he adds rebounding, defense size and length. Murray, Herb, Trey, Zion and Queen is a very viable lineup. And we are passed when I thought he would return, so I hope he’s ok and ramping up soon.

This may be true but I have some hope. KD has had a pretty good career post achilles injury. DJ is smaller compared to Boogie/ KD and others who have had the same injury so its hard to make a comparison.
He will definitely come off the bench this year but there's also a chance he is still more effective give than Poole/ Fears when considering size, offense, defense, ball handling, rebounding (everything).
There is an advantage to this situation. I would rather see DJ on this roster in 2-3 years than Poole/ Zion. Because of the injury and a possible slow return we may be able to extend him for a discount. A DJ at 80% is still top 3 impact player on this team.

Dejounte will definitely help Missi. Missi's beat asset offensively is as a roll man, but we currently lack an elite P&R originator to feed him properly. The combo of the two of them in the P&R looked awesome last season.

The dilemma is Poole, Murray, Herb are all paid like starters, but only one of them can start if we are set with Fears and Trey starting at the 1/2/3 positions.
One of them without a doubt needs to be traded.
I'd really like to see what Murray looks like next to Fears, and also if he's even back to himself, which i think he'll be ok as his game wasn't mostly based on his athleticism.
To me having Murray with Fears provides good defensive help as well as someone who can play with the ball and also hit open 3's at a high rate.
Poole would be fine coming off the bench, but we can't pay a bench guy that much, and there's other bench guys that are just as good and make a lot less.
I"m fine keeping Herb unless there's a trade out there that provides us with nice assets. Trading him for a late 1st round pick isn't a nice asset.
What I'd like to see done at the deadline is move on from Zion and bring back mostly expirings unless there's a deal out there to bring in a good player at any position WHO CAN SHOOT 3'S. Then in the offseason move Poole. I still think we should be looking for a big who can hit 3's to pair with Queen.

Unless it's Jose', I don't see anybody being traded by the deadline (and that would happen only if DM has been cleared to play and is effective).
The objective for the second half of the season should be to win as many games as possible (to evaluate JB) and, in the process, showcase Zion, DM, Poole, Looney, Hawk (I don't think there's much value there) and possibly Missi and then flip some/all of them in the offseason for draft picks and fill.
Assuming that Queen and Fears (not as sold on him as much as many of you) are the Pelicans' cornerstones going forward, we have to get off the old timeline as soon as possible. There'll be plenty of opportunity to develop those two without throwing them to the wolves. ....and I don't want them to develop bad habits.
