We went from a country that makes things to regulated bureaucratic hell hole that makes absolutely nothing.

I’m not surprised. Seems like health care is the only industry that gets built in St. Tammany.

This isn’t correct.

The largest employer for the state of Louisiana is actually the State. They have around 70,000 state employees for a state of 4.6MM.

Walmart is next with around 35,000.

Oschner Health has around 25,000.

Now if they would have said top business industry instead of “employer” then I could see healthcare being number 1

That’s not a top employer list, that is a list of what business sector/industry has the biggest workforce by state

Y’all did but so many pretend like they were big into Floyd or something when really they were listening to basic pop growing up.

This chart is based on industries not specific employers lol

If Oschner Health has 25,000 employees alone then all Louisiana Healthcare Systems combined would easily have 100,000+ employees. Surpassing the state and Walmart.

Louisiana has almost the same amount of state workers as Pennsylvania. Let that resonate.

Actual hospitals going up in every suburban BR city now. Walk-in clinics on every street corner. Aspirin still $300/pill at any of these places. Health care is criminally overturned.

A routine DR appointment with insurance- $1000. Cost me $300 oop.

A routine dr appointment with no imsurance- $165. Coast me $35 oop.

I think that’s just civil service. There’s significantly more when you add municipal employees.

Then, you factor half the state budget is derived from Medicaid funding, which directly funds tens of thousands additional jobs

…in a state with only 2million workers in the job market.

Two things account for most of this: (1) China being allowed in the WTO as a developing nation, and (2) Obamacare. Both were disastrous decisions for the country.
