Good question. Costa Rica offered to take him months ago. He has offered to self-deport there.
I guess the Administration wants to send him to a specific country as punishment. The latest is Liberia.

However, officials have made no effort to deport him to the one country he has agreed to go to — Costa Rica. The government's “persistent refusal to acknowledge Costa Rica as a viable removal option, their threats to send Abrego Garcia to African countries that never agreed to take him, and their misrepresentation to the Court that Liberia is now the only country available to Abrego Garcia, all reflect that whatever purpose was behind his detention, it was not for the ‘basic purpose’ of timely third-country removal,” she wrote.

He and his attorneys are putting out releases and videos while the administration has been barred from making public comments about him including challenging the illegal’s claims that the press runs with without questioning any of it. This is even after the Obama judge canceled his trafficking trial to focus on trying to find a way to make this illegal a victim of the administration.
The thug and wife abuser can’t even speak English after being in the country illegally for over a decade. When he was released he said in spanish we are a nation of laws which he broke and continues to break because Dems have made him the face of illegals. Sounds like he is no longer in detention and can go then.
It’s interesting that he has said he will go to a country with a murder rate ~9 times higher than El Salvador’s and which is mainly tied to drug trafficking and gangs.
