Going to LC tomorrow with a few young boys (3-9 yr olds) and I’m looking for lunch options. Preferably somewhere with a good atmosphere and food…nothing too fancy but not a chain. Ideally a place where the kids can run around but that’s a secondary preference.

Been a long time since I’ve spent much time in LC and I know the hurricanes have changed a lot. Give me a few options.

Where are you going to be, geographically.

If you're around South LC/210 (I'm assuming near the Prien Lake/Nelson exits)

Nogal is a Mexican restaurant that I've heard is good

There is always Darrells, which would be the best place for the kids running around issue.

Nina Ps is good and has a pretty diverse menu with lots of good options.

Big Daddy's

Maplewood Burger. (in the same shopping complex there is a Pho place and a Med place that I've never been to but have been in business for along time so I assume they're good.

If you're downtown,

Buffi's Peauxboys is good and fast. More limited menu but some diversity in the sandwiches

Luna is the "establishment" choice. Kind of slow. Tiajuanitas (may be a chain) is also slow.

For a quick in/out with solid food that's fast, Lagunas (Mexican). It overlooks the lake, FWIW.

We’ll be closer to downtown but not in a hurry so happy to drive wherever for lunch.

The new Crying Eagle on the lakefront. It is awesome.

Yeah if you're downtown and don't have time issues, this is a good option. I completely forget this exists (and I went to the soft opening)

The problem with Cottens is that you're going to smell like onions the rest of the day.

Those onion rings are GOAT. I had Cotten's for the first time in probably about 20 years, back in 2022, and it was awesome. As good as I remembered it.
