How is Krewe of Nefertiti in New Orleans East? Good for families from out of state?

I hope this isn’t a serious question. ETA: For anyone not from NO reading this: If an event is in New Orleans and they add East at the end, you do not want to bring your family to it.

Despite the hyperbole from some on here about the dangerousness of New Orleans, seriously, unless they are black and very much acclimated to New Orleans ratchet culture, do not let them take their neophyte family to a parade in the East. Period.

Pre Katrina it wasn't nearly as bad, some people have said it used to be a great place to live. I've never lived there so I don't know. I had a big customer with a HUD property there and there are subdivisions with nice homes there alot of them are no longer kept up. Seems like at some point could've been a good place. Presently Chef Hwy looks like a Mad Max setting.

Don't go east of Esplanade. Basically would be comparable to taking your family to Haiti for vacation.
