Currently have a Yazoo Kees 54”. It’s on its last leg after 15 years. If there are any in the lawn cutting business on the board would appreciate your recommendations.

Budget? Exmark, Scag, or gravely is what I was deciding between this year. Exmark was a little out of my price range for the laser z. Was about to buy a brand new scag patriot but found a great deal on Facebook for a gravely proturn that was lightly used

There’s so many options and opinions.

This is like asking “what’s the best truck?”.

What’s the budget and how much are you cutting? Do you like the 54” size or want something bigger/smaller? You said “lawn cutting business” so are you actually running a business or just your own residence?

Hustler, Gravely, Bad Boy, Scag, Exmark, etc. are all solid options. Having a local dealer helps, but may not be critical. Some people are adamant on a “commercial” machine, but I think there’s an economic price that should be considered for that upgrade. Residential users just are not putting the hours on the machine.

Kawasaki motors are generally regarded as the better option vs Kohler or some self-branded options.

But with winter time approaching, the selection will be limited.

Buy the best engine and hydro combination you can afford. It will vary by brand and price point.

You can't go wrong buying the commercial side of Exmark, Scag or Kubota.

Consider the distance to get it serviced.
