I don’t think there should be govt sponsored segregation but I also don’t think there should be forced integration.


Public areas and services should be available equally to all. However private property owners and private businesses should be allowed to discriminate or to segregate its customers however they deem fit to maintain whatever image, atmosphere, etc they desire. Let the free market determine what’s best, if a restaurant has separate dining areas or doesn’t want to serve a certain race of people then that’s their choice and if people don’t like it then they won’t eat there and it will fail. Or people may find it an enjoyable experience and it will thrive. If it’s the former, it will naturally make business owners think twice about discrimination. If it’s the latter, it will encourage discrimination which will in turn cause the discriminated against group change their behavior in order to change perceptions, or they’ll start their own businesses that cater to them.
