Who thought we were competing in year 1 for a NC? I have good news for you though, in portal era it's definitely possible to immediately compete for a NC as you just saw Ole Miss do. They rebuilt most of their team in the portal and they're in the playoffs. Luckily, we have the portal king dealing with that right now.

If Brian Kelly can win the west his first year at LSU, anything is possible. I’m not saying Lane will, but I’m also not going to say he can’t. Let’s wait and see how the portal class goes, before making any assumptions.

Let that sink in. LSU was their second best win. The other was against a team that had a qb coming off a broken throwing hand.
LSU will not be that fortunate in terms of scheduling next year. They played 1 tough game so far out of 13.
