L.A. Mayor Bass hates to see the explosion of Latinos joining the Border Patrol

She basically blames it on the Trump economy above.
Then, they ask the agents:
If I came here as an immigrant and did it the right way, I’d be pissed, too. Kinda sheds some light on the type of people are protesting and waving Mexican flags.

The guy who maintains the lawn and garden for my office building is a Hispanic who came here legally. His son is a border patrol agent. The legals do not hold the illegals in high regard, although many will still hire the for the cheap labor.

If I'm not mistaken, for quite a while now the southern border has been predominantly worked by Americans of Latino/Hispanic ethnicity. It certainly helps when you've dealing with majority Spanish-speakers and you can communicate fluidly with them.
I don't blame those that came here legally for wanting to make sure it stays that way. Just this week I met a guy originally from South Africa who fled the reverse-aparthied a few years ago and he's now working for ICE and doing the Lord's work. He's a genuinely badass dude and the right kind of American immigrant.

One of my previous coworkers immigrated from South America with his wife. It took them 16 yrs to become fully American citizens, Had to pledge allegiance, Learned to speak English.
Also cost them some money. Why would they be on the side of anyone that crosses the boarder is now privileged to what they worked their asses off for? Pluss much more.
He also said it took longer because it was harder for her to learn to speak English and he wanted them to become citizens at the same time..
That's a long time and a lot of work, plus the money. I can see why they do not agree with open boarders.
