December 26: Shutting down the Hoover Building.

After more than 20 years of failed attempts, we finalized a plan to permanently close the FBI’s Hoover headquarters and move the workforce into a safe, modern facility. Working directly with President Trump and Congress, we accomplished what no one else could.

When we arrived, taxpayers were about to be on the hook for nearly $5 billion for a new headquarters that wouldn’t open until 2035. We scrapped that plan. Instead, we selected the already-existing Reagan Building, saving billions and allowing the transition to begin immediately with required safety and infrastructure upgrades already underway. Once complete, most of the HQ FBI workforce will move in, and the rest are continuing in our ongoing push to put more manpower in the field, where they will remain.

This decision puts resources where they belong: defending the homeland, crushing violent crime, and protecting national security. It delivers better tools for today’s FBI workforce at a fraction of the cost.

The Hoover Building will be shut down permanently.

Promise made, promise kept. Good thing we still got 3 years to fulfill the other promises.

New building, same shite. If you prosecute crime, starting at the tip, nobody gives a shite what building it’s out of.

100% this. It's a distraction tactic to make it look like they are doing something but the same rot and corruption will continue

Acting like this changes procedures, processes, or structures of the FBI is laughable. Get a grip, Anon.

He said he was closing it down to send them into the field to do actual work. What he’s doing is relocating the bureaucrats

Patel said he was going to decentralize and dismantle the current iteration of the FBI and shutter the Hoover building, moving into another building in the Imperial Capital is not draining the Swamp nor dismantling the Bureaucratic State.

Yeah, that’s interesting for sure. At the same time, did anyone sense any hyperbole in all of that, or did someone amongst us take it all so literally as to be monitoring whether everything and everyone would be moved out of the Hoover Building in a 24 hour period and personnel be re-disbursed throughout the country in new infrastructure that was also secured and outfitted in that same 24 hour period? I, personally, find it difficult to interpret his intent to have been precisely literal. Just one fella’s opinion here.
