We could definitely use him after losing Curne and Echols

Have we actually lost those guys? The portal hasn't even opened yet, and Curne has signalled he would be open to coming back to LSU. Echols may reconsider as well, if they want to make a run at him.

Getting those guys back would be enormous. Curne could be great at Guard and is poised to start. His portal ranking will have him poised to be a top 12-20 overall player. Echols was promising in the run game.

Its not easy to replace 2 solid starting Guards along with all the other areas that will need to be addressed.

Just because you enter the portal doesn’t mean you have to leave. Its the bag that matters. If LK wants them back he will get them,if he doesn’t think they are worth more $$ they are gone.

Yeah, I knew people could withdraw their name, but wasn't sure if Lane and staff would take them back.

Did Harper play for Ole Miss this year? I know he was a highly touted recruit from La., but is that the only reason you mentioned him transferring to LSU? Or did he play and play well for Ole Miss and that’s why you want him back?

Neither guy has shown anything to be able to demand more. They should learn from Nico.

I half suspected that Curne and Echols were making the first move on the chess board to renegotiate their NIL. This is what happens when 1) you boast about how much money you have to spend and 2) you prioritize a few unproven players over the ones you already have or in this case look to spend it on newcomers.

I learned a long time ago in a motivational training class that money is not a motivator but instead it is a demotivator, specifically the lack of it. When you feel you are being undervalued you get demotivated. When you get a raise it only takes about 3 months for you to acclimatize yourself to that worth and any motivation from the bump is shortlived.

Info on other boards suggest that Echols is not a negotiation. He wants to be closer to home in TX

We have to trust in Coach Lane and his coaches to reevaluate Curne and Echols. I hate to see them go without the right coaching. They definitely have the talent. Question is, with the right coaching, can they translate that talent into production/success.

This is what I think. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at a&m.
