With all the fraud that's being exposed in Medicaid, social security, ssdi, unemployment, food stamps, section 8 housing. Pastime to shut them all down, start over.

Everyone that can't make it a couple of weeks while we recertify actual qualification can starve for all I fricking care.

Tired of producers playing Santa Claus for parasites. Merry Christmas producers. Go frick yourself parasites.

That's bit extreme. I didn't "donate" a lifetime of payments into the SS system to get nothing. We do need a safety net because there are people who temporarily need assistance. Emphasis on the temporary part.

Understand that the frickers perpetrating all of this fraud, congress included, take advantage of people with your sentiment. Nothing will ever change unless we're willing to risk a lot.

There is no such thing as "bit extreme" if we're going to fix fedgov.

I didn't say anything about killing it for people that actually paid in but you may not know that a third of the people drawing some type of social security payment never paid in a cent.

I'm as conservative as they come - but I personally know people who work hard but struggle to make ends meet. Killing these programs outright because some abuse the system isn't right. We just need to incorporate DOGE like efforts into all levels of governement.

Will that ever happen - no. Will your wish ever happen - not until our governement totally collapses - because people who don't pay taxes will always vote themselves rich.

If the Dems win the presidency they will pass Means Testing. If you have a net worth of 1 Million at age 65 you forfeit all of your SS.

How about you and your neighbors be their backstop? At least for a while so we have time for fedgov to bleed out.

That's the long-term answer anyway. The less fedgov does for us, the better we'll all be.

Anyone that needs Mommy government to subsist them needs to be held accountable. That's all I'm insinuating. Hand up not handouts.

If you requalify then you’ll receive compensation for what you’re owed when it starts back up.

Judging by down votes, half the people here are gaming the system, too.

Far too many pigs of every political stripe at that trough -- the Uniparty at its finest.

Not going to happen absent a cataclysmic blow to the US economy

Agreed, if for no other reason than to see a great spiritual awakening in our land.

Anyone that runs on that will never win.

No one is willing to take short term pain.

We can fix the health insurance scam but no one is willing to do it. And by no one, I mean the voters too.

Other than paying out SS for workers who have paid in, I think trading no more income tax for no more social programs is a good deal.

End the endless

You're always going to have some at least no matter who's in power.

Eventually the Democrats will be back in power. If you think they won't win the Presidency and a majority in Congress one day, you're fooling yourself.

Whatever Trump (and his successors, if any) put in place, they will get removed as soon as a Democrat gets in power.

Conservatives are losing the culture war still.

That’s exactly why I elected to receive SS at 63. I’m going to get as much as I can before they means test and cut me off.

If you paid it in as an individual you should get it back.

I've never stated different. What I'm talking about is your neighbor down the street that's 28 years old has only worked 6 years and has two autistic children drawing social security disability at $800 a piece per month. That's more than the average legit social security payout to people that contributed for the required 40 quarters or whatever it is.

The original idea was to be a safety net. Public housing was supposed to be 2-6 months until you got back on your feet and got a job, for example.

Last night I heard of a guy who had to sell a car to pay for cancer treatment. I don't think we should have national health care for simple ailments, but a backup insurance for those with terminal illness or serious medical problems like cancer or such might be both compassionate and fiscally productive.
