May the Birth if the one and only true God, Jesus Christ, bestow a blessing of grace and peace upon your household, to the belittlement of every other false religion, Amen

The first Dies Natalis Solis Invicti (birthday of the unconquerable Sun) was Dec 25, 274CE. The first documented case of Christians celebrating Natale Domini (birthday of our Lord) on Dec 25 was in 334CE.

People back then were going to celebrate on or around Dec 25 for the rebirth of the sun, as this is the approximate date for the winter solstice, when the sun is made low and is at its lowest point in the sky for three days and then begins to rise again. They celebrated this day for thousands of years. The Christians (and sects of Jews) made it a habit to co-opt holidays.

Just look at Yom Kippur - the day of atonement. The mainstream Jerusalem based sect of Judaism essentially replaced Yom Kippur with the Passover. Then in the gospels, that sect of Jews (which became Christians) replaced the Passover with the Day of Atonement in which Jesus (the one called Christ) was the goat sacrificed as Yahweh while the other Jesus (son of the Father… bar abbas) was released to carry away the sins of Israel. Of course, the Christians changed the name of that day to “Pesach” (what we call Easter in English) but it’s the same word used by Jews today as the Passover.

You’ve probably seen or read it as follows:
quote:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Now let’s correct that purposeful Christian mistranslation to be consistent with the actual written Hebrew text as explained by Jewish theologians…

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government rests upon his shoulder, and Wonderful Counselor Mighty God Everlasting Father has called his name Prince of Peace.

This isn’t about a future messiah, but rather the messiah present at the time - Hezekiah. The king of Israel and Judah during that time period was considered to be Yahweh incarnate, who himself was the son of the high God El (see Deut 32:8-9), therefore the king of Israel or Judah was considered a son of God (El).

The government/authority rests presently, not “shall be on” his shoulder in some future event. You just have to look at the Hebrew grammar.

Lastly, it’s the mighty god who is calling his son the prince of peace. The mighty god / wonderful counselor isn’t the son from the first part of the verse.
