I’m not satisfied that exposure to second hand smoke is the boogeyman that many people make it out to be.

I am satisfied that the conditioning of the public that came out of that whole anti-smoking movement made the public easier to manipulate with the covid narrative.

Bonus: People could do more to mitigate the overall risk to their well being by deciding to drive 35 mph everywhere than anything that can be done related to 2nd hand smoke or what was done during covid

I occasionally drop into Outlaw Cigar in NKC.....the 2nd hand smoke in there is so thick you don't need to buy a stogie

That whole second hand smoke crap was woke nonsense. Libs were trying to demonize hard working Americans who enjoyed a smoke now and then.

Pretty sure its gone. I could be wrong. I went in there and immediately didny want a cig anymore. This was circa 2010. Helped me quit unless im drinking and can bum one. And that is rare these days.

Smoke in the air. You breathe it in. You now get smoke in your lungs. Smoke in your lungs causes health issues.

I didn’t care to go out and eat a good meal and have to breathe someone’s smoke, ruined the whole experience. And I smoked. Bars are a different story though.

As far as the Covid mask thing went I wore it to protect others, Americans have always been good about taking care of one another.

Now do that for:

Car exhaust
Bus exhaust
Plastic fumes from your dashboard
Smoke from a Burger King
Fresh asphalt
Microplastics from tires at an auto race
Oil refineries
etc.

Don't forget that most people in South Louisiana live within 75 miles of about 50 different chemical plants. Chlorine isn't so bad to breathe on your way home from work when it settles near the ground due to weather, but you clearly know it.

People in Japan smoke so fricking much that my go-to hotel in Tokyo puts bottles of Febreeze in every room so you can make your suits not smell like an ashtray after a work "dinner." I watched grandparents smoke through half a pack with toddlers at a TGI Friday's in Shinagawa.

The difference is they aren't fat, and walk a lot. That's what causes health issues. Secondhand smoke modeled the excuse to opt out of PE due to asthma, etc. Kids just got fat. The low fat/zero fat craze of the 80s created too much focus on diet, to the detriment of exercise.

When I was in high school, I was pretty tight with one of my cousins and would sometimes go spend the weekend at his house. His parents smoked like chimneys. By the time I got home on Sunday night, my entire duffle bag and everything in it would smell like a fricking ashtray.

Yep. Diet and exercise is key. Cigarettes and the flu aren’t these big killers like big pharma wants us to think.

There is no small pharma.

People are like water, take the path of least resistance. FedGov has encouraged medical intervention over personal responsibility and accountability. Blame the right people.
