If so, what does that switch look like? What would happen to our economy?

I dont Think anyone really knows.

Yes. It’s only a matter of time. Whether that’s in 3 years or 100 years.
It’ll more than likely be a formation of a global currency on a blockchain.

No.
We would have WW3 before that happens.
It would absolutely crater.

Bitcoin cultists are strange people

Probably, but likely not for a while yet.
Our ability to export inflation from currency debasement evaporates overnight and the economy crashes the next morning.
No, I’m not being hyperbolic.

Your ignorance shows. No one said anything about Bitcoin.
Blockchain is the game. Bitcoin is only a team.

So are the anti Bitcoiners.

I am very familiar with Blockchains,. Merkle trees have around forever, and Git is probably the most famous use case.
Only Bitcoiners think that everything will be on immutable ledger.
Any currency system needs a central authority to resolve disputes for a reserve currency.
Some examples of practical private Blockchain usage would be visa b2b, but even they limit it to business transactions

At least you admit it's a cult

History will say yes as it always eventually happens.
When it happens and how it plays out will be a mystery.
Anyone that thinks TPTB are going to allow bitcoin to replace the world monetary system is delusional.

Just a matter of when.
We f'd the goat in the a when we weaponized the dollar against Russia. When you are the global reserve currency you cannot do stuff like that you have to remain neutral or else you completely destroy confidence and it is only confidence that keeps people in the game.

Not only possible, but probably.
There's a lot of good podcasts on this subject and they all agree, the US losing reserve currency status would be crippling for most Americans other than the elite status wealthy.
A lot of people understand this and it drives them to politics, but not for the reason you'd think.

The average global currency lasts 80-120 years...

You don't understand decentralization...
If a central authority has control over the money, the system stays the same.
Remember that church and state used to be one entity.
How crazy does that seem now?

We are seeing how it plays out real time. With the basically only use case for crypto is crime.
Nobody wants a monetary system where there is no recourse for action when they are scammed. Chargebacks and mediators exist for a reason.
The entire thesis once again is if the entire society collapsed my crypto bucks are going to make me rich

You are for sure one of the idiots who said to never buy bitcoin
You are like Diana Olynick from CNBC who has said to not buy a home the last 15yrs cause it will crash some day

A crypto transaction is recorded online forever...
Cash is untraceable, which is why our lowest criminals use it every day.
The same currency you use and is devalued by your government yearly.
