The Trump administration is in talks with former intelligence analyst Edward Snowden for a TOTAL AND COMPLETE PARDON as well as Snowden’s return to The United States. These talks are reportedly being led by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, a long time advocate and supporter of clemency for Snowden, who EXPOSED the fact that the NSA has been secretly spying on the communications of American citizens WITHOUT PROBABLE CAUSE FOR DECADES after the passage of The Patriot Act in the post 9/11 era. Edward Snowden is not a traitor… He is an American hero and a patriot who revealed the treasonous activity that our government has been engaging in against us in blatant violation of our 4th Amendment rights. Tens of millions of us are totally in support of this… This would be perhaps President Trump’s greatest act of clemency of all-time. PARDON SNOWDEN AND BRING HIM HOME NOW!

Good.

I was sad it didn't happen during Trump 1.0.

I'll bet it doesn't happen. Nor should it.

Was Snowden Brennan’s right hand man? I think I’ve read that somewhere.

I don't know about that, but I do know he worked for the CIA and was sent into the NSA to spy on them.

Notice how be never dished any dirt on the CIA. Only the NSA. It was the first strike of this intelligence war we have been watching unfold for a decade now.

frick Edward Snowden. The NSA is the org behind Trump. The CIA are the ones trying to take him out.

Also, he never disclosed anything that wasn't already known to the public since 2004 or so. Operation PRISM. He was sent in to erode trust in our NSA, which is a military intelligence unit. The CIA was jelly.

The reason I asked about the connection between Snowden and Brennon is that the timing of this pardon is interesting, given how Brennon is going to be indicted in Florida. Could Snowden have agreed to turn state’s witness against him?

While I firmly believe that Snowden should be pardoned, he's probably better off living the remainder of his life outside the country for his own safety

Maybe so. Would be interesting to see if that happens. I did consider they're talking about a pardon just to get his sorry arse back over here stateside. The people behind the scenes here accuse him of treason and want him dead.

If he helps them nab Brennan then I'm cool with that. Although I'm not sure why they would need Snowden. I figure they'll have Brennan dead to rights.

time will tell.

No one should be spying on US citizens with no warrant. You must have been a huge fan of ol' Cheney and Bush with their Patriot Act.

This is the crux of the issue right here. CIA, NSA, FBI, DEA, DIA, whatever. It does not matter.

I'll just cross my fingers on this one and hope for the best.

Not even a week ago, it was being widely reported that Trump was about to announce war against Venezuela's Maduro regime...

I agree with this. But my point here is why was a CIA spook sent in to the NSA to blow their shite up while nothing was said about the CIA? You don't think the CIA has similar programs running? You're a fool if you don't think they do. The NSA is a military intelligence agency. The CIA is not.

Snowden was sent into the NSA to try and take them down at the behest of the CIA. This is unacceptable.

So while I agree that nobody should be spying on Americans without a warrant, if I had to choose between organizations to do so I'm taking the NSA every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The CIA is maybe the most evil organization on this planet. Evidence? Look at Jeffery Epstein. He worked for the CIA. As did Snowden.

And no, I was not a fan of the PATRIOT Act. Not in the least. I blame George Bush SENIOR for most of the problems we face today. Junior picked up that torch and shifted everything into high gear. He's maybe, other than Biden, the worst POTUS we have ever had.

All of his real "dishing" was to the Russians. We have no idea what all confidential national secrets this guy gave to the Russians in exchange for his being given asylum and a place to live. Typically the spy who defects to Russia dishes everything on everyone.

And remember, before this he ran off to China first. Two communist nations who are, historically, sworn enemies of the United States.

Hey, I don't like it either. I want the spying programs shut down and I believe they will be after this all wraps up. I think right now they're likely using PATRIOT Act provisions to spy on their enemies (the deep state). But the one thing I do know is that I trust the NSA more than I do the CIA. Ten times over. And seeing this for what it really was (CIA attack on the NSA) puts me in a situation where I feel compelled to side with the NSA.
