Probably after Blake Baker leaves for a head coach job and takes Peoples with him to be his DC!

Hopefully. Was an analyst for OM since 2023 so maybe just a title upgrade and still an analyst?

Good point. Great to get ahead of the curve and have backups to fill if need be. Dont necessarily have to promote them right away because I know LSU can attract the best but still nice to have someone instead of no one and having to scramble.

Good question. Haven’t heard Peoples is out, but having 3 guys that specialize in DE’s is strange.

Don't see them canning Peoples. He's a great DE coach. Look what he did with Swinson in 1 year he was a totally different player.

I wouldnt think with the effort made to keep Baker from taking a HC job — keeping his guys (Peoples and Olson) would only make sense from Blake’s side.

Blake wants to become an SEC HC and I can’t imagine he’d be OK with ditching guys he’s comfortable with for guys he’s not, plus Chris Kiffin getting the Co-DC tag

Thinking this move to ensure transition is smoother. Sterling is likely coaching DEs, and Peoples has experience coaching DTs. Gives us a possible shot at Stewart and a the same time, you get an analyst like this to ensure everything is smooth for DTs especially.

Spanos is a good coach. He could definitely have gotten an on field coaching job just about anywhere, but he must have liked being an analyst under Lane because that’s been his job for the past 3 years since he was Randy Edsall’s DC at at UConn.

Baker gets a power 4 HC job in 2 to 3 years, and takes Peoples as his DC. In the meantime Baker trains CLKs brother to take over as DC, and the Analyst becomes Assistant DC/D-line coach.

Everyone is an on field coach under the new rules. It’s more about who does or does not recruit off-campus. He may be content not to be in a recruiting position.

Analyst, college experience and lots of NFL experience. I think he won 2 rings with Pats.
