There is a natural explanation for this, but regardless it's an incredible phenomenon. Obtw, in the book of Exodus, this occurred as a sign from God that JUSTICE & JUDGMENT was about to befall certain nations.

Just sayin'. Downvote away!

But the scripture directly says that the waters will become blood, not the appearance of blood.

I don't read scripture as allegory.

Now I'm not saying the end of all things earthly isn't near, but there are definitely strange phenomena that have occurred naturally, such as fish actually falling from the sky in rainstorms, entire bodies of water suddenly changing unnatural colors, and tides that literally glow in the dark. Saint Elmo's Fire and swamp lights also come to mind. All are natural but definitely seem supernatural from basically any perspective.

John was writing from a Jewish base to describe things he had never seen in the most understandable way he could

Do you really think a beast is going to crawl out of the sea and control the world. And this sea beast will have 7 heads, lions mouth and bears feet?

And an actual dragon? Even tho Christians have been mocked because dino like creatures were long extinct before man evolved??

Theres also precedent for blood-like comparison in the NT. At the last supper Christ said the wine they were drinking was his blood. But we all know it wasnt actual blood. Neither is the wine you drink at each and every communion

You might be right. One day everyone will find out. If a Christian is wrong, they lived a good life but missed on some debauchery. If a non-believer is wrong, likely gonna get quite hot for them. Make your choices, do what you want to do and live with the outcome. Then there will be no one to blame but you.

I believe this will happen, but the Book of Revelation is figurative. I don't think the water will turn to actual blood, possibly referring to pollution or some calamity yet to come that would make the water undrinkable. Possibly radiation from nuclear fall out?

I enjoy contemplating this.

If he saw what we know to be, say, drones... how would he describe it?

One that really tickles my imagination is...
quote:

Revelation 1:7: "Behold, he is coming with clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen."

Even starvin' marvin' has access to a screen of one kind or another these days... with a screen in near every hand and technology of Starlink- something like every eye seeing Jesus' return is certainly more possible now than at any other time in history.

This is Johns best attempt at describing the Internet, and live broadcasting
quote:

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half

Interesting...so only Christians 'live a good life'? Not Buddhists, jews, or decent law abiding agnostics?

That's what you got? You were running down the book of "Exodus" as a work of fiction. Do buddhists, jews or agnostics follow the bible? I don't know what they follow or how they live their life. Can only speak for what I was taught and how I live my life. If you don't believe, so be it. I'm not knocking you for your failure to believe, why do you have to come at me? I'm simply stating that we will all find out one day if God exists or not. If I'm wrong, I have lived a good life and missed out on some debauchery. I can live with that. If others are wrong in their beliefs, it will likely be getting hot for them in H3LL (because they were wrong).

Living "a good life" is not the requirement. Don't play stupid.

You literally suggested non-believers are going to burn in hell for not living a 'good life'. I asked you to clarify what that means, and here you are deflecting and trying to change the subject

Actually they'd be going to burn in hell for not believing. That is what I was taught. Do those other groups believe in the bible? If not, and what I was taught is true they are going to burn in hell. I deflected nothing and I'm not changing the subject.

If you don't to believe, so be it. You were running down my beliefs, not the other way around. I'm not going to try and change you.

Got it. So its not about living a good life after all. Its about avoiding hell.

100% thats all. Nothing else. You win, pack it up.

Quit forcing your opinion on someone that clearly doesn't care and has now told you in multiple replies . That doesn't fall into the "lives a good life" category in any religion

Why are you arguing with me so much? If I follow the teachings in the bible, I consider that I've lived a good life. Perhaps you don't consider that to be true and I'm fine with you having your opinion on the matter. My point is that if I follow the teachings of the bible I will have lived what I consider a good life. I will have missed out on a LOT of debauchery, deviant sex activities, etc. Worse case I'm wrong (which could be true. I don't believe it to be true, though) but I still lived what I consider a good life. If others are wrong (and therefore I'm right), they may have enjoyed their version of a good life, but they will pay for it in H3LL. If what I've been taught and believe is true.

Of course it is about avoiding hell. Just like I follow the speeding laws, not because I want to drive slow, get there late or be safe really but because I want to avoid paying a speeding ticket.
