What is holding back CJ Stroud?

He is a very good player for sure. But I feel like there is a little wall right in front of him that he is not busting through to be a fully elite QB which would make Houston probably a top team in the league...are they just conservative cause of their defense?

He wasn’t getting held back the last 3 wins huh

Outside of Nico his WRs are barely NFL caliber

Himself. It’s time to accept Stroud is a mediocre QB.
He’s a top 15-20 QB. Won’t ever be elite in the upper echelon, but does enough to pile up wins with an elite Houston defense.
His rookie season was awesome, but there is more evidence his last couple of seasons to show he’s exactly what he is.

No offensive line and not much of a running game

The line isn’t great and skill positions are forgettable outside of neko
He isn’t the tier of QB to overcome that but I think he is good enough to lean into letting defense keep them in games which there isn’t an offense in the AFC that they aren’t capable of slowing down.
I am regrettable thinking the Texans might actually make the AFC championship

Having a DC as head coach, going to be a revolving door at OC.

The amount of dumbass threads you make

His O line isn't good and his receivers aren't that great. Nico is their number 1 but on alot of teams Nico wouldn't be WR1. He has alot of room for improvement but has been decent this year.

His name: Coleridge
You ever heard of any “Coleridges” who were even remotely successful?

I think he may just end up being a good starter in the NFL. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And he may end up winning a Super Bowl as a good starter. Worse starters than him have made deep runs
He's also 24. So he may need 2-3 more years to reach his "prime" then be a top 10 QB from 27-35 which I don't think would be that surprising either.

That's foolish. Where do you come up "a lot"?
Rams
Bengals
Seahawks
Vikings
Cowboys
Lions
