Clearly forcible contact leading with helmet.

absolutely should be by the rules, doubt they have the balls to call it.

Yea idk… that seemed pretty textbook based on the rule

Refs and replay booth didn't want to be the bad guys all of a sudden

Clear targeting.
Defenseless player obviously. Forcible contact also clear.
Just wild

I don't see it. Guy came in as low as he could given where the ball was

A&M got screwed there.
Should have had 1st down on the 1 1/2 yard line.
That was clearly targeting to the head.
They never even mentioned targeting.
Defensive back knocked himself out cold.

He didn’t lead with his helmet at all what are you talking about
it was completely head up straight into the shoulder of the receiver

The Aggie receiver should have pretended to be hurt. Might have forced a review

Only thing I can think of is that I didn’t think he ‘launched’ and was pretty low when he made it contact.
I think this was one of those, at least imo, that I’d prefer not called even if it might be ‘by the rule’.

If his shoulder is now considered his head and helmet then you might be right.

I thought it was, but they call that, everyone starts whining about how much of a pussy game football has become.
ETA And is there a distinction between targeting and just a helmet-to-helmet hit?

he literally had his chin up even looking slightly towards the sky as he drove through the hit, he didn’t lower his head and didn’t use any part of the crown to make the hit
you need to watch the replay again

Incidental head/head contact, didnt lead. Not targeting.
Posted on 12/20/25 at 2:43 pm to ItTakesAThief
Well cause it wasn't targeting.
Posted on 12/20/25 at 2:44 pm to ItTakesAThief
I’m not comfortable saying what is targeting and what isn’t but It looked like the exact play that has been removed from the game.

That wasn't targeting. Sometimes heads just collide.
Toure wasn't launching and leading with the helmet.

Forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless player doesn't require launching or leading. It can be with any part of the defenders body.
It was clearly targeting based on the rules.
