Why would you leave a great environment to go babysit that dumpster fire?

Yeah, he already announced he wouldn't be returning to Utah but not retiring.

Michigan could do worse than him for sure.

My Michigan buddy says he would be a great fit and wants him. I don’t see how you can do much better at this point.

He would be a great hire for them. Probably the best they could do at this point. They wouldn’t have to worry about any scandals with him and he would steer them out of this embarrassing episode. That should be #1 and #1A in their hiring criteria.

I think he'd be a home run. I've always liked him in his interviews, and he did keep Utah pretty relevant moving them through the different conferences.

I'm aware.

The point was, why would you leave a place like Utah to ultimately wind-up at a dumpster fire.

Never has super stars but gets good mileage out of good players. Always play hard.

The knock from people in Utah is he has a screw loose somewhere.

Youre a mile off here.

1. He’s already left Utah under his own volition.
2. He’s actively campaigning for the Michigan job behind the scenes.

It’s not a matter of if Whittingham would go to Michigan, it’s if Michigan would want him.

Ann Arbor is extremely nice. Michigan football> Utah football. Makes sense to me.

But he's not a "Michigan man".

I wonder why David Shaw isn't a possibility.

His last four seasons at Stanford they went 14-28. Decent coach, but even at this point, Michigan can do better.
