I've done a lot of research on Lucas and talked to my guy at SC (same dude from earlier) and everything I know points to one conclusion:

This is an amazing hire.

He told me that Lucas is a "nasty" coach and an amazing recruiter. He's extremely upset that he left and doesn't really get the move.

His resume speaks for itself. Lucas was part of a nasty defensive unit in Baltimore from 2016-2020 and worked with the DL in Jacksonville under Urban Meyer. Obviously is most well known for turning the SC Edge group into one of the best units in the nation.

He's also incredibly young, not even 40. He's going to be huge for us and will have his unit playing really well.

I can already tell he’s smart. He knows Beamer is on borrowed time so he figured he might as well get an early seat on the Lane Train.

Our DL hasn’t been elite in a long time. Hopefully, that changes very soon with this hire and the players headed our way.

He doesn't get the move? Let's see, for one, he doesn't have to worry about if he'll have a job after next season when Beamer gets canned. Secondly, he has elite talent on LSU's DL right now and may poach Stewart over as well. He also has an elite offensive mind on the other side of the ball as HC not exactly going to hurt your defense especially in game preparations. He also knows LSU is throwing big dollars on their roster so he will get guys to make him look even better with top talent. Let's be real, SC is not LSU. Oh yeah, I'm sure LSU is also paying way more. Why would he not make the move?

Don't forget Reilford comes back for LSU next year as well and before his injury, he was looking like a real stud. LSU's entire DL is loaded next year and that's without even seeing their portal moves.

You forgot one of the most important points.

He was only making 250k at usce. Lsu probably doubled that to 500k plus.
