Christmas Eve & December 26th are now federal holidays

BREAKING: President Trump signs executive order making Christmas Eve and December 26th OFFICIAL federal holidays:
“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:
All executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed and their employees excused from duty on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and Friday, December 26, 2025, the day before and the day following Christmas Day, respectively.”

Curious how that will affect bank branches that close on Federal Holidays. I'm pretty sure there is some kind of law that banks can't be legally closed for more than 3 (might be 4, can't remember) consecutive days.

He's not making it a holiday in the same way Biden made Juneteenth a perpetual holiday. It's just a single day at his discretion. The statement just says 2025

It's not a single day. That has been done before and even by him. He is making it a three-day holiday this year, which as far as I know, has not been done before.
