My 17 y/o grandson is in the last half of his junior year in high school. Today he received a “Prospect Link” Invitation message from the Chicago Cubs inviting him to join the Prospect Link, which is a platform for amateur payers. It provides information to Major League Baseball and all 30 Clubs in one place. I wish I knew how to post an image and I would post it.

So proud of this boy.

Very cool.

one of my best friends wife's brother is playing for an mlb team now. It's very interesting to watch the day to day from a guy who is not guaranteed anything. It's a struggle and so mental. Not worrying about getting moved down to AAA would be hard after 4 nights of 0-4.

Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Minimums (2023+ CBA) Thanks to the first-ever collective bargaining agreement for MiLB players, minimum salaries saw major increases:
Rookie/Complex League: $19,800/year
Low-A: $26,200/year
High-A: $27,300/year
Double-A (AA): $30,250/year
Triple-A (AAA): $35,800/year

Not great but not 500 a month

Take the NIL money and play at LSU unless he's a first round talent.

After working 60 plus hours this week already dealing with a 74 page permit application for a boat house that has to go through the federal, state, county, city, an absentee HOA management company and the customer requesting changes at the 11th hour....a 7 hour bus ride, a box lunch, and a double header in 90 degree heat and doing my own taxes in 15 minutes on a 1040EZ form....and all I have to worry about is hitting a curve ball?

Sign my dead arse up for the Pensacola frickingWahoos Hell, is the ground crew hiring?

My cousin's boyfriend is committed to an SEC school but he's getting some draft love as well. But his draft evaluations are kinda all over the place. Will be interesting to see where he gets drafted and what he decides to do. I chipped in about the greatness of SEC baseball, and SEC life in general, but there's a point somewhere in the draft order where it makes since to invest a signing bonus and begin your career in earnest.

Congrats, that's awesome. My son's best friend is a pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers and the minor leagues can be a grind, but hopefully it will pay off for your grandson.
