Thinking about joining soon and curious about Mondays…if you have a personal cart are you still able to play in the afternoons? Are the practice greens available or off limits on Mondays? TIA

Have you tried calling them to ask?

I’m not a member, but the course is closed for maintenance. Pulling up in your personal cart isn’t going to change that.

Right - courses and range are completely closed on Mondays.

No clue about Beau Chene, but my course/range is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. I've had employees tell me that if I brought my own balls to the putting and chipping green after work, I'd probably not be told anything. Never done it though.

Yeah that’s why I was asking. My previous club was “closed” on Mondays as well but everyone knew the maintenance staff was gone by 3 and members could walk or take their personal carts out & use the practice greens. It wasn’t advertised but they let it slide.

I’m going to get on my soapbox for a minute.
Members doing stuff like that is why clubs stay in bad shape. Members think they own the course and have rights nobody else does. Being a member doesn’t give you access to the course after hours or during maintenance hours.
Don’t complain about course conditions when you’re driving your golf cart all over the course and taking divots on maintenance days.

Agree on the course without a doubt. I recognized when I joined that this is a busy course due to the low initiation fee and large member numbers. So happy to let it get a rest. Don't have as much of an issue if someone is using the practice green after hours or something similar.

I used to practice on Mondays all the time with my 9 year old son. We would just chip off to the side, I knew the course sup well and he had zero issue with it
Now they run us off even the practice greens on Monday
Pretty ridiculous . But a few a-hole parents who let their kids run around the course like jackasses pretty much spoiled it for everyone

This and the 8 somes of geezers on weekend mornings led me to bail out of the place. The low fees are nice, but I'd rather pay more at TCC and have better availability

I can’t believe I got 10 downvotes because people think it’s okay to access a course while it’s closed for
maintenance. Lol. Unreal.

It’s actually just closed. Very little maintenance ever appears to be going on unfortunately

We're closed on Mondays but you'll still find people playing. This last year they started hiring course marshals to "patrol" on Mondays, even the practice areas since Mondays was the day most residents that were not gold members would play in their private carts.
That being said, when they have tournaments which happens on Mondays ALOT in the spring and fall, you can generally hit the range and practice areas because they won't know the difference.

Correct...Monday is not a maintenance day, it's a day off for the grounds crew.
The benefit of having two 18 hole courses is they close one during the week for maintenance and leave the other one open. Mag is closed today for example.

Thanks for the info fan, nice to get the real scoop from a member. I should have put that in the title…oh wait, I did!

Some courses let you play on Mondays in the afternoon.
In fact, If you join TCC in Covington, you pretty much have the course to yourself on Monday afternoons.
Of course that’s often the case at TCC since there are no tee times either.
ETA. Not a BCCC member. Sorry for responding. lol

So true.
We have some old jackass's that believe that they can drive a cart right next to the actual green. I almost got into a fight with one guy about it.
The last thing, Covid really did harm the game. People don't want to fix ball marks or rake bunkers anymore.

It’s an awful epidemic.
If you can’t walk an extra 10-20’ then don’t play golf. Leave all four wheels on the cart path around the greens. Sand your divots, pull your tees out the ground, rake bunkers, fix pitch marks. If everyone did these easy things courses would all be in better shape.
