Ironically the same as the states, the opposition govt is complaining vehemently.

Me thinks it was the opposition inventory, and Im serious. Driving up prices.

quote:

Cocaine The wholesale price of cocaine surged by approximately 55%, increasing from around US$4,500 to US$7,000 per kilogram.

Marijuana (Ganja) Prices for marijuana have also increased drastically. The wholesale price saw a 33% jump from about US$1,500 to US$2,000 per pound,

Damn…I was planning on picking up a couple pounds of weed this afternoon. Maybe I should wait a few days to see what the price does.

I thought there was a larger discrepancy in cost between the two.

$3,181/lb cocaine
$2,000/lb weed

No informed person thought those little bay boats were headed to Europe. The DRUGS were (mostly) headed for Europe, not the USA (which is the point of the discussion).

Of COURSE there was a transshipment point on an island somewhere in the Caribbean near Venezuela. Trinidad is a logical candidate.

This has a lot more to do with the border than the boats.

Follow your way back up the chain of replies.

TrinidadTiger was discussing the street price of drugs in Trinidad, not in the USA.

USA border policies will not affect the price of drugs on the street in Chaguanas.

You see, it would help if he actually shared a link instead of pulling stuff out of his arse.

But, that's too much to ask for many here.

Relentless,

You are correct about being a transhipment point.

If you guys google a map, you can see that peninsula of Venezuela in the northeast that juts out towards Trinidad. Most of that peninsula is controlled by gangs. NO ONE in their right mind would take a boat close to shore there. But you can travel from there to Trinidad without ever going into international waters (our offshore borders are contiguous).

The drug boats think that used to make them immune to US interdiction......they chose poorly.

I traveled on the ferry from Tobago to Trinidad Friday, you can clearly see that part of the coast of Venezuela, it is only a few miles. Usually a lot of boats out there, there were only a few, must still be a few real dumb arses.

That is interesting.

Legally, I think that they would be correct ... if the government of T&T or Venezuela did not grant leave. I am assuming that such leave was indeed granted by T&T?

It's an ad absurdum aimed at those who are so sure of the destination of individual drug shipments 400 Miles from Puerto Rico.

Yep. Those five 300s were going to get them through the Caribbean and all the way across the Atlantic.

I'm no expert, but I would think every time the US intercepts or terminates any drug delivery, it would increase prices everywhere.

The difference is a pound of weed would last you a month.

A pound of coke would last until it’s all gone.
