If they don't get DeBoer (nobody seems to know for sure if he even wants the job) then the hot board is rather uninspiring. We could have another Penn State situation if they strike out on him/other candidates that haven't been mentioned
Cliffs:
Dillingham, Rees, Fisch, DeBoer were the names (Dilly is now out)

Honestly a plausible path forward for them could be Kelly with Rees as AHC and OC

Sexton is floating Deboer's name just to get him a better contract from Bama, or maybe as an escape hatch if things go completely off the rails against OU next weekend.

Better contract? He’s not worth any form of upgrade from his current contract just yet.

Apparently boosters view him a lot more positively than fans (but I'd imagine this could be said about many around the country)

Well OU is terrible, and honestly it was a fluke win by OU the first time around. Hard to see Bama dominating every stat line again and still losing like what happened during the regular season.
