Should be a slam-dunk bipartisan issue, we might see the effects in the upcoming olympics.

What's his opinion on coaches getting paid $10 Million a year to coach ?
And then getting $50 Million to go away because they were such colossal failures ?
I guess that's ok.

Where the hell did he come up with $14 Million ?

Govt has ZERO place here. And I hate modern college athletics

The govt is why we are here. If they staiyed out of it and let the NCAA, a private organization, set its own rules like it should be able to we wouldn’t be here

This isn’t me calling for more regulation, but it is frustrating that a state like Louisiana has its rich folk sending tens of millions of dollars to a football program, while the university itself is horribly underfunded with dorm shortages, leaking libraries, etc

And the major city of the state, NOLA, is critically underfunded. Potholes, k-12 schools, etc

We are told that Louisiana is a poor state, but the amount of money being funneled to LSU football is astounding.

The amount of donations LSU football received since 2023 would be enough to turn NOLa schools into best in America

Trump needs to stfu about sports. Hes so out of touch and everything hes said has been cringe as frick going back to 2018.

With the exception of supporting sports during Covid - he was right about that and that was a big one.

Probably means a 4 year deal to a high school player can be 12-14 mill?

Wasn’t Underwood’s deal 12 million?

I think it’s absolutely crazy to give that kind of deal to any high school player who hasn’t even played a down of college.

Wait until you find out what colleges are and what salary caps in pro sports are.

2 of the top 10 paid players according to that list are in the playoffs and Beck and Miami was the last team in.

This thread is cracking me up. Do you think the federal government instituted a salary cap in the NFL? and you think they have the power to do the same in college football?

How about men playing in women’s sports? Care to have the federal government get involved in that?

You can really tell what Louisiana prioritizes. Having a good football team is about all they care about.
