I’m looking at getting some sort of shallow water anchoring system for my 2024 bass cat pantera classic. Finally ready to pull the trigger hopefully before February.

What do yall recommend me getting? I’m just starting to research them so I’m not knowledgeable on anything just yet. I do know I want two 8’ black ones. Thanks

Power Pole for me. I’m rough on mine and it just keeps working.

Got 8ft PP, and I love them. It’s so nice not having to tie off the boat at a ramp, and to drop them to eat a snack, change baits, etc.

I just bought one last month from Front to Back and they said the Power Poles were definitely being serviced more than the Raptors, so I went with the Raptor. It also feels more solid in my opinion.

Single pump Power pole blades is what I ended up with. I love them.

If you don't have a Cabela's card, get one and throw them on it. Good points back purchase. And if you're lucky they will be running that 0% for 12 months deal.

Also added two front deck stomp buttons so I don't have to fumble for a remote.

I had a single Talon on my last boat and it worked intermittently.

Have the Raptors for going on 3 years, get used a lot. No issue yet. Never had PPs but know plenty who do and hear no bitching

Probably will be good with either one I go with but was just checking to see if something gives one an advantage over the other.

Active anchor can be a pain if you’re fishing around clay, not much of a neg for the raptor. I have had to rock the boat to get my blade to release at times.

My son has Raptors with no issues. My fishing buddy has Power Poles with no issue. I wouldn't hesitate to get either one.

With an ipilot troll motor, I don’t use my power pole anymore. Spend your money on a good troll motor with spot loc

8ft power poles will only hold you in about 6ft water. Pumps go out but they are good about exchanging. Have no experience with the new single pumps. Talon you don't have to worry about oil ever in your bilge. They will hold deeper. Only issue I had is remotes seem to work 98% of the time. Might not seem like much but when you need it to stick I don't want to be fumbling with buttons.
Either way get 2. Should have got them during black Friday. Probably missed out on 15-20% off

It was probably less than that for me. Or to word it better...they always eventually worked. But sometimes you had to press the remote over and over and over before they deployed/retracted.

Raptor has a pump, straight copy of PP.
Talon is a piece of shite.

I’ve had 12’ talons for 8 years and they’ve been awesome. I have the brackets where they fold down so I can get them anywhere. Highly recommend

Freshwater only I bet, rarity to see them in saltwater here. They don’t hold up to the mud and clay in BL.

Yea, good advice. Ive had both and both worked fine. Had a small issue with one of my first power poles but they quickly sent me what i needed and took care of it. Great customer service

Running 8' Power Pole blades on my 25' CC now. Depending on what you are putting them on, stay away from the 10' poles. On heavier boats, they are just too flimsy and dont hold like the 8 footers do

If you have Minn kota ultrex go with Minn kota. If not power poles are hard to beat. Great customer service also

I have 2 regular 8’ power poles on my bay boat and love them but I have had to replace the boards on both of them after 3 years of use. Easy to do and not expensive. Everything else has been flawless and I use them a lot.

Buddy has the Raptors and they look nice. MK makes good products that work well so I have no doubt they are also great.

Whatever you do just dont buy a Talon. I’ve had to help more than 1 friend deal with a talon with broken cables stuck in the down position.

depends on where and how you fish. I have both. Given the choice I’ll use Poles 100 out of a 100 times and spot lock only if I have to.

Powerpole is a great company when it comes to customer service, Minn Kota is good but doesn't come close in comparison.
