Carbon Capture

I know personally it’s a big debate locally, we just had a police jury and town hall about it. Of course the businesses have pushed it, but the public has been staunchly against it. I’m just curious what everyone thinks about it. I feel I have formulated my own opinion but would like to hear what the board thinks. Pros? Cons?

At best, it is fraudulent. At worst, it is destructive.

From all I’ve seen that’s the case. The only people going to bat for it is one or two jurors and the rest are CEOs of the companies. Don’t feel the risk outweighs the rewards in the slightest. They try to pitch economic benefits but those are all very very limited and short sighted. Just don’t get the end goal

Think so too. The principle behind it is flawed. We just passed a “scout team” but how hard is it to pencil whip something

Follow the $$$, it’s another grift

Been saying that. Been getting stonewalled. It’s a local thing we got pushed back for a “scout team”. We got a win in a neutral decision but how do you stop the money? I’m a broke azz vet that cares about my community. They sent the CEO of our local lumber and CEO of renovations. I don’t have that pull or that money. From my research it’s a net loss. How do you stop that

20 years from now they will say ooops….

CC & AI will be a net negative on the population, between depletion of water resources and increased electric bills we will be saddled with.
It’s a pyramid scheme with the bottom (tax payers) supporting the top (wealthy investors/blackrockers). Thats why its being sold to the public as an investment in the state/parish/town/communty.
Solar/Wind/CC/META are not and never will be job/tax creators for Louisiana or any other state.

So how do we fight it? Genuinely. I love my community and want to fight it.

Same thing the liberal tribe / medical community did after the covid hysteria and threats against dissidents of their orthodoxy.

I do not know one way or another.
But according to my geology professor friend, it will not damage the environment. And he's not involved with either side, pro or con.

Most of the environmental damage will be from the pipelines to send the CO2 to the wells, not the wells themselves.

We're told it amounts to 0.04% of Earth's atmosphere.
Capture that.
Capture that.

They pushed these billion $ plus bs carbon capture projects onto private companies but cry about tariffs that actually yield benefits for the American people (tbd)

That very well may be true. We didn't discuss that part of it.
