Next year for Kalen and the gumps? Are we going to have to be on Lane watch from year one?

If he misses the playoff this year and next year then I think it’s a good chance DeBoer is fired or leaves. Yep. Lane watch might be similar to Saban watch.

If DeBoer is fired and Lane goes we should take DeBoer or give Baker a shot.

Lane doesnt want to live in Sabans shadow. He makes his own legacy here.

Yall are insane if you think Lane bounces for Bama if Lane leaves us high and dry (which he could do) it’s going to be for the NFL

As much as bama thinks they’re the best job in the country, they aren’t. LSU is a better job and there’s nothing that bama can offer that LSU can’t.

Bro Deborr is a very questionable coach. Hell no.

I agree with all of this. I think Kiffin will leave eventually for the NFL. I don't see why he'd leave for Alabama. I don't know why any coach would go there to be compared to Saban and Bear Bryant. It's not clear they have any better resources, facilities, etc. All they have is more entitlement and expectations.

Don’t think Lane will ever stay in one place very long unless it’s a grave. Enjoy him while you can.

Lateral move

All bama has is history and brand (which I’d argue is close to LSU’s)

Easier to recruit in Louisiana. Lsu has about equal nil and funding. Lanes goal is to win a natty not be the coach of bama.

If Lane’s goal is to win nattys then Bama doesnt add anything that LSU doesnt have

Plus you will never ever eclipse Saban or the Bear

Lane will work out a deal for more money if the Bama job opens up but I don't think he would leave

Best thing is for them to just keep winning like 8 games and beating Auburn. That could keep him stuck there for a looooong time.

There is nothing that sets Bama apart from us job wise other than just a better history

DeBoer was Bama’s at minimum third choice, probably 4th. That’s not including Day or Smart, who they had no shot at getting.

People that keep saying that the Bama job is the job Kiffin really wants is complete bullshite to me. Why would Kiffin want to take over a program in the shadows of two of the greatest college coaches of all time? Lane would never be considered as the greatest at Alabama, whereas at LSU, if Lane was to win multiple national championships then he would be THE GOAT of LSU football coaches and they’d make him a statue.

I truly think Kiffin is exactly where he wants to be.
