Can anyone explain this? (Playoff related)

The committee has said that you won't be punished for losing conference championship.
This is what is behind Bama being confident in getting in whether they win or lose.
Ok fine.. But why is 11-2 BYU eliminated after losing their conference championship game and 10-3 Bama would not be?

They are ranked 11. Even if they stay at 11 with the loss they would not get in. Thats why people are saying that

Have you seen BYU play? They have zero business being anywhere near a playoff or any kind.

I mean. One team would have 2 losses against teams with a combined 1 loss. One team would have 3 losses against teams with a combined 8 losses.
No P4 team with an 11-1 record has ever been ranked outside the top 10. In fact, only 4 out of 40 P4 teams have ever been ranked worse than 8th nationally with an 11-1 record.
I don't GAF if you think they don't deserve to be near the playoff but if you say that then surely you'll say the same about Bama.

You could argue Bama beat the champion, at their home, earlier in the year. So they split with UGA while beating them at UGA home field.
That said, I don’t think they deserve to be in. Neither does BYU.
