Lebby and Arnett not a bad combo at all if they can somehow find the money to get talent in there

Not at all. Mississippi state experience. Was a pretty good DC while here under Leach. Needs to rehab his reputation so hes probably on the cheaper side. Also gets rid of Hutzler as DC.

Arnett's defenses ranked in the Top 5 of the SEC while he was DC from 20-22.. Hutzler's defenses ranked 16th and 15th (thanks Arkansas) in his two years, including the 3rd worst in P4 in 2024 with an overall ranking of 126 out of 134 teams, and in 2025 the 11th worst in P4 and 104 out of 136 teams. Historically the worst defenses in MSU history.

Arnett was 52nd in 2020, 29th in 2021, and 35th in 2022. Give us that type of production this year, and we are 9-3 going to a Florida bowl.

Tells you Lebby still doesn't have good connections in coaching circles. But honestly, who else is going to hitch their wagon to Lebby, who is circling the drain and will likely be fired this time next year?

I don't think Arnett and family ever moved from Starkville. So, I'm sure he'll come cheap and Arnett likely reached out, after Lebby struck out with all of his targets. He's not a TERRIBLE DC. He had top 30's and 40's defenses at State under Leach. Arnett recruits like arse, though. Better get stud recruiters as DL and CB coaches

Reading too many state measage boards. Lebbys seat isn't even warm. You have to consider the resources he has. He made some crucial mistakes in big games this year but we made a huge leap this past year.

Good dc, just keep him away from the Wendy’s drive thru.

I’ve thought Lebby has done a good job. You’d like to see them finish out a couple of the games they were in this year, but he beat Arizona St and had Tennessee, Florida, and Texas on the ropes.

I agree. I think it is a good move by MSU. I am pretty sure AU was going to try to hire him as DC, then Mike Leach passed (RIP) and he was promoted.

Solid for them.

I like their OL coach. They are tough and will be hard in the trenches.

I think with a good DC and a rough offense they are trending up.

He was almost there many times but got out coached in tight games by more experienced coaches. Last year was his 2nd year as an HC and those learning curves can be painful sometimes. State is a school that needs a lot of continuity to compete against better talent.

He was let go by UNLV, for allegedly pulling into Wendy’s drive thru nude.

Loadholt? OL was probably our biggest weakness this year. DL got better as time went on. Lost our top pass rusher very early in the season.

Yes but a couple games I watched it looked like more a manpower issue and not necessarily scheme.

I could be wrong easily. It was a small sampling compared to what you probably saw.

I think last year was his first and maybe need some pieces. I

His seat is scorching hot next year. I know two very prominent football financial boosters. Lebby did not want to make this change and he was made to. That's also a problem. On multiple fronts
