Low number of High School recruit signings!!!

What is the story behind 14 signees? The other top 15 football programs have signed 25 to 30 high school recruits during this period. No quarterbacks, running backs, Linebackers, or offensive linemen. Kelly and the staff were playing a lot of golf!

I don't know if you missed it, but we fired our coach this year.
This class is quality over quantity. Bunch of highly rated kids. We'll fill in the gaps with the portal.

pretty normal when you fire your coach mid year or lose a coach and don’t make an internal hire

Previous coach wasn’t doing much in recruiting so it was a small class to start, Kiffin keeping the class together was the miracle

I was wondering the same exact thing actually.
We’re past losing scholarships right? Kelly was fired a long time ago. Crazy we only have 14 kids signed. By weight we have the best class in the country, but because we only have half the total of the other schools we’re not even top 10 in recruiting

Im fine with that IF you don't have many defections for the portal. Makes it easy easy, from the portal, just focus your time on signing players that have All-American or all-conference potential.

No OL? They pulled in a top 10 OT and Kiffin flipped a OG from Ole Miss. As far as RB and QB, it’s likely Kiffin has proven players at those positions who he is planning to sign once the transfer portal opens. Transfer portal is the best way to go for QB anyway.

Have an upvote. You have a right to ask. Nobody here is born with the knowledge. The timing of letting this staff go when they did certainly didn't help. Kiffin is money working the portal though and he will be able to make up a lot of the difference. We are really hurting on the offensive side and that's where Kiffen will be able to work his magic. Have faith.
