Brian Kelly takes over LSU and wins 10 games in his 1st and 2nd season and won the SEC West and played against Georgia in the SEC Title game.....again in his 2nd year after taking over a shite program. And you LSU fans are already saying Kiffin is excused if he goes 8-4 with a 25 million NIL bankroll and Kelly leaving the program with a winning record.....lmao. If Kiffin doesnt win 10 games in his 1st season...he's a frickin' bust.

His win/loss record will depend directly upon if he can get a qb to run his offense. A Pavia/Chamberliss type that LSU doesn’t have on the roster. He should be able to snatch one out of the portal via the $25mil bank roll if a recruit doesn’t pan out.
I don’t think too many people are worried about the future with the NIL guarantees in his contract.

Culturally, Kelly never fit into LSU, not because he did not try, but because of he was...Boston guy, went to a small exclusive college, coached in the northern mid west and at Notre Dame. He is steady methodical, put together, pompous, boring.
Local folks could not come to terms with that.
Now if Kelly won a natty, he would get a pass for a few years but that's about it. From the moment he was hired, he was fired coach walking. He had a very, very short rope.
Kiffin is a more flamboyant hire. He is unpredictable, on social media, lot more fun. He will keep us all entertained for better or worse. And that makes it exciting.
You do not pay 52 million to fire a head coach and hire another one with a slightly better record. You do it because you do not like the outgoing coach.
Ed Orgeron went 6-6 and 6-7 and destroyed our roster to 42 players. He is still loved.
Kelly went 10-3, 10-4 and 9-4 only to get fired. His last season he was playing with a hurt qb and no sec calibre backup.

Kiffin is not inheriting a great roster or a program on solid footing. That's what 4 years of his laissez-faire head coaching style produced. The 2025 never scored more than 25 points against a Power 5 opponent. It's a massive rebuild. Plus, we don't play that pansy arse schedule that the Irish play.
LSU under Kelly was held together by bandaids and chewing game and Jayden Daniels masked many of Kelly's terrible hires and flaws.
Admittedly Marcus Freeman has done a great job but he inherited a Top 5 team yet still managed to lose 4 games in his first season.
LSU fans are smart enough to know that it won't be about Lane's first year. It's about the future and we all feel extremely confident in where he will take us.
You are the typical arrogant, smug "Irish" fan but you still haven't won crap since 1988. Maybe this is your year. With your marquee name and weak "independent" schedule you practically have a gift wrapped invite to each CFP. Hell, Vanderbilt has a stronger case for the CFP than ND.

Well, we did steal their baseball coach, and then their football coach. I guess given their former glory, they can’t deal with the fact that our athletic program is more highly regarded than theirs.

No one is giving anyone a pass. The expectation is for Kiffin to win CHAMPIONSHIPS...something Kelly never did and something your boy now will never do.
LSU digressed in the past few years...the OL is a total mess and now are getting a new DC.
It took Saban a few years to get the team playing championship football. Kiffin will have us there in probably 2 - 3 years...
And you will still be remembering your old Irish--because you have nothing of recent memory to hang your hat on.
Notre Dame played two good teams this year....A&M and Miami. Lost both. Are you giving Marcus Freeman pass?
