Been following politics a long time since Carter.

I have never seen politics this vile, abusive, toxic, violent, combative EVER as today is.

Everything is so out the box it’s really unsettling.

I also never have seen Democrats act like they do now. They used to be so live and let live and respect for everyone with some sensible social issue . Now it’s goose step to our psychotic talking points or be destroyed.

I’ve really tried to take a hard look at Republicans to see what changed? I don’t see much difference from when I was a kid. But the Democrats? It just blows my mind how different they are now. So extreme left. And half the country votes for them!

Will everyone who voted for Trump stand up who would change their vote today. Raise your hand and be counted. Don't believe everything that you read or hear. That is their method of control. Makt tp where the Truth is so blurred that people don't know what to believe. Covid proved proved how easily sheep are led.

quote:

Perverted Law Causes Conflict

"As long as it is admitted that the law may be diverted from
its true purpose—that it may violate property instead of protecting it—then everyone will want to participate in making the law,
either to protect himself against plunder or to use it for plunder.
Political questions will always be prejudicial, dominant, and allabsorbing. There will be fighting at the door of the Legislative
Palace, and the struggle within will be no less furious."- Frederic Bastiat, The Law

The next paragraph fricking stings

quote:

"Is there any need to offer proof that this odious perversion
of the law is a perpetual source of hatred and discord; that it
tends to destroy society itself? If such proof is needed, look at
the United States [in 1850]. There is no country in the world
where the law is kept more within its proper domain: the protection of every person’s liberty and property. As a consequence
of this, there appears to be no country in the world where the
social order rests on a firmer foundation.

Yes, I know the civil war happened a little over a decade later, but he even said that slavery would end up causing strife.

Anyway, the strife is almost entirely because the Left wants to constantly take from people and control them and the right just wants to be left the frick alone. Very simplified version, but that's the root of it.

Preposterous .

If the right had their way, every single American would attend a Christian church .. and have 3 or 4 kids.. and no one would be allowed to get or perform an abortion .. and every single college professor would have to be aligned with Christian, Conservative beliefs, lest they be “omg indoctrinating !!” The college students.. and school teachers would need to be trained to carry guns in their classrooms …

Dont get it twisted, i am not arguing for the validity of ANY of those things, or their consequences for society, or any of that- i just want to know how the frick all those things are not an attempt to control people ??

You're being hyperbolic.

Who in the world on the right is for forcing people to go to church? Let's just start there.

You are an outlier.. an aberration .

I grew up in the American South, and almost all the Maga folk i know today from there, almost to a person they wrap up their Christian (mostly Catholic) beliefs with guns, and lower taxes and anti-choice and all the rest .. it’s like to believe in just one of these things, they have to tie themselves up into a pretzel with mental gymnastics to also believe in the other stuff .

Trained how would be great. Part of that is how you value others lives and rights, which clearly you don’t.

quote:

If the right had their way, every single American would attend a Christian church
Because we think you should, not because we make you.

quote:

and have 3 or 4 kids
Kids are the best thing married couples do. They are our future, why people don’t understand that is bizarre. My wife and i stopped at 2, and we’re as conservative as you get.

quote:

no one would be allowed to get or perform an abortion
Killing children for the sake of convenience is bad. Thats 99% of all abortions. If you can’t understand that kill yourself, the world would instantly be a better place.

quote:

and every single college professor would have to be aligned with Christian, Conservative beliefs, lest they be “omg indoctrinating !!” The college students
Teach the subjects, that’s what we want. A lot of them quit doing that a long time ago, which is how we got gender studies degrees amongst a myriad of other unless things.

quote:

Dont get it twisted, i am not arguing for the validity of ANY of those things, or their consequences for society,
You just did, completely incorrectly as I pointed out.

Because you neither want to understand us, nor care to and in every single point you illustrate you cannot conceive of society where both life and freedom are valued. That’s just how warped your worldview has become.

This is a very false and ignorant claim. Individual freedom is what the right strive for. The fact that we don’t want illegals and call to prayer from a religion that over 80% sympathized with isis, doesn’t make us to want to pressure anyone to do anything. We just believe laws should be followed and enforced and not cut kids dicks off or support gender insanity.

This is some straight up propaganda believing brainwash.

Oh, the horror…! (Roll eyes)

Fact is, the above was the norm and the basis for the greatest degree of personal, societal and national freedom and prosperity that the world has ever experienced.

Having been born in a rural community in 1950 to a relatively poor farm family I can bear witness that life was about as good as it gets for the honest, hard working common man. Our parents, mentors and even politicians all came out of the Great Depression and WWII and were simple people with extraordinary virtue and integrity. Most all would not even think of taking’Welfare’ from the common treasury. Just ten minutes on YouTube watching the entitlement minded and rabidly delusional ‘Karen’s’ of today spells out the basis of our nation’s political disunity and social dysfunction. It’s virulent Narcissism born of extraordinary worldly prosperity but devoid of spirituality and love. They are lost souls wandering on a phantom reality but clinging to an inflated self worth Ego.

There is zero doubt that this Nation was Founded on Judeo-Christian Principles with our Founding Documents professing “inalienable Rights coming from God”. And with those Rights the citizens dutifully assumed the Responsibilities inherent in Christian Theology. And to the degree that the citizenry has strayed from those responsibilities, to that degree personal and social unity and prosperity has dissipated and dependence on Government power fills the void.

We either exist in a Spiritual Universe (God) or not. There is no grey, it’s either/or. The kind of virulent and pernicious Narcissism that is witnessed in today’s citizens (rich and poor) can only be interpreted as a Spiritual form of psychological sickness derived from a Spiritual base. Such being the ‘Father of Lies’ and original inventor of Narcissism.

People can deny the above Spiritual based reasoning but they cannot avert the consequences of the delusion, dysfunction and collapse that is fast coming. Or the muh coincidence that this whole Worldly scenario fits exactly within Biblical Prophetic Eschatological Narratives.

Bottom line: It’s coming. “Every knee will bow” and we’ll get our unity and prosperity back. A thousand times over. Along with and after an extraordinary and self-inflicted arse kicking, a serious education, and the transformative power that comes with it.

Live and learn. Lord have mercy on them who love; and the current lost souls as well.

Like me?

You lost your way in that whataboutism. Of course there are nuts on the right who would turn America into Iran if they had the chance, but they are not even close to getting that chance because they are so few.

You listed a host of issues on which the Right would control people. I’ll except abortion because that is a weighing of the rights of unborn babies against mothers’ rights to control their body - either side could be accused of controlling/oppressing.

On the other issues there is nowhere near enough support on the right to force people to go to church, for example. When has that ever happened since the founding of America?
