Jon Sumrall isn’t Napier

No matter how much I want him to be Napier 2.0 and for Florida to fail miserably. I don’t think that will be the case this time.
I believe we got the better coach and will do better overall and likely beat them more often than not.
But Sumrall is a good coach.
His staff is shaping up well and quickly.

So he got some coaches.
He's not Napier, but who knows if he will have success there. I don't think anyone is assuming much either way.

I think Sumrall is a better coach…but UF has been burning through coaches for a while now. So either they suck at making hires or they have deeper issues. Is Sumrall good enough to overcome all of that ?

I’m not shitting on Sumrall, but you really have no idea what he will do? His college record is not much different than Napier. It’s not to say he isn’t a better coach, but he has a lot to prove. He doesn’t really have a track record of being able to take care of one side of the ball. He’s been a Co-defensive coordinator a couple of times. He’s going to have to hit on every coordinator hire every time he hires one. Tulane to Florida is a massive jump. This is grown man football now.

Napier had a great record prior to Florida. The problem was that Napier is a total dumbass and it’s very obvious when he opens his mouth. I still think Sun Belt to SEC is too big of a jump for anyone to succeed in the short term but Sumrall is a very competent person

I mean most everyone have considered Florida the second best hire this week so I’m not sure he is exactly being underrated here.
