All the "Boomer-Hate." Now, define to me what a Boomer actually is?

Is a Boomer anyone born before 1970, 1980, or 1990? Let's get the bracket set, please?
I think in my mind, a boomer had a draft card, and those born before the end of WW-2 are the Greatest generation.

boomers are selfish, self-absorbed pieces of shite who have cratered the American Dream and sattled future generations with unsustainable debt and endless war

Boomers were born roughly between 1945 and 1965.

I'm a Boomer then, and can enjoy the hate of my wealth and land ownership, you are saying?

The U.S. Census Bureau defines the Baby Boom as being from 1946-1964

You are a useless POS

Technically, no, but it's just thrown around to Gen X and anyone that expects people to be on time, or pushes back on BS excuses that the current generation of young folks have (Zennials, Gen A, whatever.) No shite we make more money because we're older. It's called experience, not a conspiracy theory.

Boomers are people who had children that blame everyone else for their problems

I had young people working for me. If you came before me in a performance evaluation, I'd give you six weeks to shape up or ship out. When you are older and experienced enough, you can do the same.

Very “roughly”.
There’s a better argument to cut off the birth year for Boomers at 1957.
If you were 5 years old during the “Summer of Love”, or 8 during Watergate, or 10 during the fall of Saigon, then you have a very different cultural perspective than those who participated in those events (think Hillary Clinton and her cronies).

The idea is that boomers are resented for two reasons:
1. Their relatively liberal ideas towards sex, identity, and individual liberties as youth which have done a complete 180 in old age
2. The relative economic prosperity of much of their upbringing juxtaposed with their seemingly out of touch notions on modern economic problems.
Basically, the stereotypes are of someone who did lots of drugs and banged whores trying to throw young people in jail for doing the same thing. Someone who was able to support a family on a single income without going to college chastising youth struggling to marry and have kids who can't afford to buy homes on a white collar salary. It's the dynamic of "born on third, but believe they hit a triple".
I think that most boomers are well meaning people. They only have access to their own experiences, just as the youth do not have access to their experiences. People are radicalized by media that tells them to be envious, tells them to hate. So, the boomers resent the youth for being entitled and soft. The youth resent the boomers for being wealthy and judgy. The reality is both could learn a lot from the other if they had compassion for one-another. However, people have become too self absorbed to do anything like that.

The same is true for millennials. There's a huge difference between those who were already making money in their careers before 2008 and those who were still in school. Some grew up entirely pre-internet, and some never knew a time without it in their homes.

For now, you’ll be dead soon. Enjoy!

So they are not religious.

President Trump is one example of a Boomer. The people with BDS always seem to forget that.

Yes, this is true, as life is fleeting, but you are going to be right behind me, as in 100 years, no one will ever know either of us ever lived!

Kingbob, you seem highly invested in this argument. I wonder, if you don’t mind me asking, how old are you and where do you get your information?

I'm not a boomer then. I was feeling guilty.

Valid point! I agree.
Furthermore, it undermines the inter-generational debates don’t you think?
