did saban recommend Kiffin to bama?

upon retirement? or did he just basically not have any say cause Bama is gonna hire the coach...im guessing the second one. but just curious to know if saban in anyway suggested him or what not

Surely after he reflected on his last recommendation in a similar situation (Houston Nutt), he realized that may not be his forte, let the admin make the hire and just ride it with the 500k UA consulting role.

Did he recommend Kiffin to LSU? Sounded more like he recommended LSU to Kiffin. Kiffin was the top choice for LSU and Kiffin asked Saban for advise.

Kiffin was clearly the top available candidate in general. He was discussed in 2021 and was obviously the #1 pick this time the Saban pipe dream aside. Given Saban’s relationship with LK and LSU, I wouldn’t be surprised if LSU asked Saban his thoughts the same way someone would consult an old boss when hiring high level positions.

Who is DeBoer's agent?
For perspective: Jimmy Sexton is a close personal friend of Saban, Saban has said this.
Jimmy Sexton has been Kiffin's agent back as far as his brief Tennessee time if not before. Sexton was also the agent of the Tennessee AD when Kiffin was hired there.
What other talons does Sexton have embedded in SEC schools and their athletic departments? Until the whole picture emerges, we will only know a part of the story.
