This is true. Saban was the first call. He didn’t say no and considered it for a week before suggesting Kiffin to LSU and helped recruit him

Honestly think he would’ve taken it if he knew it wouldn’t make the entire state of Alabama burn to the ground

I’m glad we at least made Saban say no. Which turned into him helping Kiffin say yes.

Woodward would not have even asked. He’d have offered someone else $150M guaranteed.

100% and it’s also why Saban, on game day, told Kiffin to stay where he was at. He was giving it consideration, but not just the HC spot.

Saban knew Lane was the next call. Saban helped us land Lane.

Yep, he was contacted and paid to organize the AD dept and select the coach. He was never a candidate.
