House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, subpoenaed former special counsel Jack Smith on Wednesday for a deposition, escalating Republicans' investigation into one of President Donald Trump's top political foes.

quote:

Jordan directed Smith to appear before the committee on Dec. 17, according to a copy of the subpoena reviewed by Fox News Digital. "Due to your service as Special Counsel, the Committee believes that you possess information that is vital to its oversight of this matter," Jordan wrote in a letter accompanying his request.

I'm sure Jim will write a sternly worded letter when Smith doesn't comply.

Jack Smith might be the biggest loser in the whole 10 year Trump saga so far. That guy can't do anything right.

Oh I bet. The guy got his arse handed to him by the Supreme Court a couple of times. Now it’s the House’s turn.

Where do we stand today on the war crimes? You still crawfishing or are you back on the war crime train???

Smith has always been the willful stooge for the Deep State.

The problem is that the House has to vote on a "contempt" resolution (which would also include the issuing of an arrest warrant). While it requires only a simple majority, I think there are too many RINOs to get it passed.

And that's IF the resolution was proposed in the first place.

A better description is that I responded to bad/dumb arguments about his prosecutions while giving general analysis about the litigations

I think so too.

I’ve just read letters from Smith’s lawyer that he’s been ready to testify at a public hearing. Wondering why the need for a subpoena if he agrees to show up.

Since it's a deposition subpoena I imagine they don't want it public.
