I find it interesting how many times the local media and LSU fans here keep mentioning Saban. They have hated the guy for 15 years for the most absurd reasons, but now all of a sudden everything is "forgiven" because he talked to Kiffin before he came here.
It reminds me of the Chicago Cubs "forgiving" Bartman, after they are the ones who made him a villain.

Kiffin probably went to Saban and Carroll and was like dude, I want to go to LSU. The media is gonna hate me and it's gonna hurt because I've build real relationships here. Please help me.

We started appreciating him more after he retired and started appearing on Game Day. Has nothing to do with Kiffin although we appreciate the help.

This is correct. We hate Alabama and Nick brought his work ethic that we only had a small taste of with him. It sucked but we didn’t hate him we lamented what could have been
