Let me start by saying i am a huge LK fan. I think he is a great hire. Just wanted to share the USC press conference comments with you.
Sounds a little familiar.

35yo Kiffin =/= 50yo successful Kiffin

35 vs 50 is a big difference in age and maturing/learning from mistakes. He’s had multiple HC jobs now
USC and their fans fricking suck. LSU is a totally different animal, if he gets it right he can win multiple nattys here

That was 15 years ago! You are a Fing LOSER.

Anyone over the age of 25 knows and remembers that USC was in fact Kiffin's dream job. Then they left him on the tarmac.

So you expect him to say at one of his press conferences in front of his new bosses “we’re going to put together a decent staff. Won’t be the best but we sure are going to give it the old college try!”

Don't kill the messenger? Buddy, I had already been to two NC wins before Lane took that job. You're no messenger. Saw it in real time. You have to understand what happened before that in Kiffin's life to understand Kiffin.

USC was a big deal back then:
2007 - 11-2
2008 - 12-1
2009 - 9-4
What's your point?

I dream of playing several golf courses. They are all my dream courses.

Do you fricking nerds go searching for this stuff just to post on this board? Why not just focus on what we have in front of us instead of digging up the past. We’ve had some weird, try-hard threads the last 2 days.

Do you let failures of 15-20 years ago dictate the rest of your life? If so I know your in the gutters.
Why is he not allowed to grow?

At that time it was his dream job, it was a top job in the country, it still is a better job than ole miss. he was an assistant there and looked up to Pete. I don't care about that.

Lane is a better coach now. Will he stay here for 10-15 years? Given his history, probably not. I think most of us understand that.

I'm not sure what the point is that you're trying to make. The coach at an introductory presser says good things about the spot that just hired him, wild stuff I know.

Don't give a cow's dung about anything related to Lane Kiffin years and years ago. He was a JERK (see Tenn departure for an example) and his risk taking was incompetent. I remember a FAU vs La Tech game, and FAU was killing Tech running the ball and would win the game. FAU switches to throwing INTs and INCs and Tech comes back and wins the game. And of course his going for it on 4th down and SEVERAL yards is legendary.
He has changed in his risk taking and his demeanor. I think he handled the Ole Miss situation with maturity and class...other than breaking his contract which everyone nowadays is willing to do. I judge him at 50...not over a decade ago.
