Shreveport unaffected by cold rain - 3 shootings within one hour last night.

My first 10 minutes in Shreveport, I watched from a hotel balcony as 2 Messican construction workers were robbed of their tablesaw at knifepoint by a brotha.

alajones2 and I made the move from Shreveport to Huntsville a few years ago. Shreveport was good to us. We bought a big house in an established neighborhood. Both of our kids went to magnet schools and did very well. The food and arts scene were really great. I miss a lot of things about Shreveport.
By the time we left, it was a sinking ship. A girl had been shot by a stray bullet in one of the nicest parts of town. A big town meeting at one of the schools led nothing but platitudes and empty words. Shreveport leadership and the white guilt crowd that still live “in town” are not doing anything about it.
I miss it, but I’m glad I’m not playing the violin on that sinking ship anymore.
