With NIL and the portal it is exactly at the right time.

Kiffin is a more exciting hire than Saban. Not more consequential though, imo. Saban brought us back from the ashes.

The point is that the whole landscape of college football has and is changing and we just hired the best guy out there to handle it. Not only did we just get an elite offense but we also got a mastermind at handling the portal and recruiting. MASSIVE hire.

Exciting at the time? Yes.

Most consequential?
That remains to be seen.

We wouldn’t have been able to hire Kiffin if it weren’t for the program that Saban bulilt. It all started with Saban.

Agreed, he is the most exciting hire. Because that’s judged at the time of the hire and it is exciting.

Disagree that he is the most consequential. Because that’s judged based on results over a long period of time. And Saban built a program so strong that Miles and O won a NC after Saban won one himself. That’s incredible. I hope Kiffin is more consequential than that but it will take time to build that resumè at LSU.

I remember when Saban was hired. Many said “Who?” Saban was not as known for winning as LK is

Exciting? Debatable depending on who you talk to. Consequential? How do you know that? He would need to win at least 2 NC’s before we could say that.

Not consequential at all. Not yet. You need to choose your words more carefully. It sounds like you’re just bloviating. I understand people are happy and I’m happy. We got a good coach as well, but until he proves it on the field, it’s all just hype. Personally I think it’s gonna take him a year or two to get LSU back into the championship level teams that we were used to before.

This team was a handful of offensive players and better coaching away from being in the mix this year
