It’s a staple of the prominent locals that never left BR.

The original location had a backroom where the locals and people with actual sources used to hangout, eat/drink, bullshite, gamble, etc. it’s where a lot of inside info regarding the program was talked about.

The LSU athletic department was run out of the back of Phil’s in New Orleans.

RIP Mr. Gus, I used to play gin vs Gus when I was a young teen. My dad would bet on books and I’d get a cut. Fun fact, they called him “Boom Boom” because 2 cards and he would knock.

Anthony still running it now?

Speaking of that back room, met JaMarcus and Early there back in ‘04. Was fun to see LSU players as a teen/young adult there. Pre-NIL that may have been a place you went for a handshake or “job” as a college athlete.

it's where Dale Brown and his basketball buddies are still pissed about court naming of Sue Gunter

It's also where Dixon McMakin thinks he runs the town

Don’t know about that but he’s friends of friends and living a good chill life on a big spread outside Folsom, LA still involved in many music projects.
