Box Blind Options

Our club is looking at purchasing a few box blinds to put up for our young hunters who are just getting into hunting with the parents.
Question: do the plastic roto-molded style blinds get to hot for Louisiana hunting? Do they last? Any experience with the below blinds? Are theY water/bug proof?
Trying to stay below $1500/ea. Do not need bases, only the blind.
Options considering are:
a) ~$600 field and stream multi-piece, bolt together design (cheapest)
b) RAM 650, two piece design
c) Uncle dans “The hitman V3”; single mold no assembly required
d) Sportsman’s condo bow 72in.
e) Maverick 6 shooter
TIA

They get hot. I prefer the larger window openings that slide up or flip up but most of those blinds are going to be expensive. I have a few Dillon type blinds and they work great if you keep them painted every few years but the sliding windows get hot.

The insulated stay a lot cooler, but can still get warm. I keep a small battery operated fan that can also run off the USB, and bring my phone battery back up to run it.

Is building blinds out of wood not an option? Would be a lot cheaper.

We agreed that yes, we may save a couple hundred dollars, but once you split the cost it’s minimal per person and getting a day for the group to all pitch in time to build is hard. It’s easier to just online shop options and go from there.
It seems we are between the Sportsman’s Condo and Uncle Bud

I have a sportsman condo sc2 or 3 (the 4x6 one).
I am in north MS so different temps but we love it. Have hunted out of 2 others that friends own as well.
I'd definitely recommend, but can't talk to it being too hot.

Antler Shed blinds cost more than the ones you mentioned, but they are worth the money in my opinion. Also, they last forever.

This.
Up that budget a little and pick up a couple of the Anter Sheds. They are nice.

I’ve hunted out of several brands and antler shed is my favorite.
Search facebook marketplace and you may find someone who builds blinds locally. They may give you a discount on purchasing multiple stands.

I have 6 sportsman’s condos SC3’s and I’m in north Louisiana. They do get hot, but not unbearable.
If the kids are young they will need a booster or sit in your lap to be able to see out of them. I’d also recommend getting at least the SC4 for the room. Bow windows would help alleviate the height problem.

I don't like windows in box stands. First thing I do is open them when I get in a stand, I don't need another step keeping me from getting a shot off. The one stand we have that has windows just slides in a track and doesn't keep wasps out anyway, if anything it's worse.
Currently working on a 5x6 box using 2x4s ripped down to 2x2s for the frame, with a 2x6 floor and 5/4 deck boards. Will end up costing me about 600 bucks including the legs, ladder and screws.

No fun when buzzards take over the windowless stand

I've never gotten in a stand off with a buzzard in a stand, but I have had a flying squirrel get into a stand with closed windows that jumped off my head when I opened the door as that was the only way out, and that about gave me a heart attack at 6am

How do the antler shed blinds hold up to bugs/wasps? The track windows are nice but typically don’t seal great

Don’t get the track windows, get the drop windows and they seal up tight.
Wasps aren’t getting inside the stand itself, but them bastards will nest up in the eaves outside.

Check out marketplace and you’ll likely find a local or even an Ag dept. at local high school building wooden stands for half or less of your budget.

It’s not the confrontation with buzzards that’s the problem. It’s when they nest in them and crap everywhere. Once that happens just set it on fire and start over.

I have sliders in mine. The windows are tight. No bugs get in.

We had one get into a stand, threw the chair away, sprayed it with bleach and/or pine sol, and were still using it. It smells like every other stand. Theres no carpet in there. It's open, gets wet when it rains, and plenty of wind.
